Emei Shan (Sichuan)

Emei Shan is one of 4 famous Buddhist mountains in China. The others are Putuoshan, Wutai Shan and Jiuhua Shan. Its mountains range from 500 m to 3,099 m high.  It is located 143 km (89 miles) SW from Chengdu.

Gate architecture

It has lush mountain scenery that contains 10% of China’s plant species and some endangered animals.  Shrines and monasteries are scattered over mountains and valleys.
